Drama as MP Ndindi Nyoro heckled during burial of five family members

Drama ensued during the burial of five people of the same family at Nyakahura area of Murang’a County when politicians took to the podium to address mourners.

Kiharu Member of Parliament Ndindi Nyoro was heckled off the microphone by angry mourners in an incident that cut shot the burial of the four who died in a road accident last week.

His efforts to charm the crowd failed as family members loaded the caskets into vehicles and drove them off to a private burial ceremony two kilometres away.

Residents blamed politicians for depriving the deceased of their right to a decent send off after TangaTanga and Kieleweke politics took centre stage.

Murang’a Woman Representative Sabina Chege said, “Why would people come and start showing off about who is helping more than the other? We should give from our hearts, not to come to gain any political mileage.

It is a shame and we need to revisit. If this is what it’s going to be like, let the church not allow us to be speaking in such functions.”

Ndindi Nyoro, on his part, stated: “Nauliza viongozi wengine wote, tafadhali mtu akiitwa kuongea unanyenyekea tu vile mimi nilinyenyekea…kwa sababu mwenye kuamua sio mimi, sio sisi…mwenye kuamua ni nyinyi na Mungu.”
