Drama in Parliament as musician Akothee shows up in mini skirt

There was drama at Parliament buildings on Wednesday afternoon after controversial musician Esther Akoth aka Akothee showed up at the National Assembly dressed in a manner deemed to be inappropriate.

Akothee wanted to gain access to the mini dining used by parliamentarians for a meeting with nominated MP David Sankok but the sergeant-at-arms declined since she was dressed in a mini-skirt.

The singer caused a scene insisting that she would not cover her luminous green skirt suit.

Female MPs Soipan Tuya and Racheal Nyamai were forced to intervene before Akothe agreed to cover herself.

In a video capturing the drama she was heard joking that the problem was her legs being long and not the size of the skirt

“The problem is that my legs are longer than the skirt” Akothee said after the meeting with Sankok.

She was in Parliament to lobby for the launch of her foundation.
