Drama as suspects smear human faeces on Eldoret police cell walls

The Uasin Gishu County fire-fighting officers had a hard time Monday cleaning Eldoret Central Police Station after two suspects smeared human faeces on the walls of the detention centre.

The detainees said to be street boys were protesting their arrest, and did not want to be arraigned on charges of assaulting staff near an Eldoret nightclub.

Confirming the incident, Eldoret West police boss Zachariah Bitok said the suspects were arrested at 2am Monday after a manager of the nightspot reported that the two had assaulted patrons at the joint.

Uasin Gishu County chief fire-fighting officer, Peter Kibet Kurgat, said they managed to clean the walls of the police cells.

Police boss Bitok says: “Operations [at Eldoret Central Police Station] are proceeding well.”

The suspects will be arraigned in court after investigations into the assault allegations are completed.
