Duale slams Jubilee leaders opposed to Kenyatta-Raila handshake

Leader of Majority in the National Assembly Aden Duale has hit out at Jubilee leaders who have expressed dissatisfaction with the handshake between President Uhuru Kenyatta and Raila Odinga.

The Garisaa Township MP said that all Jubilee members were bound by President Kenyatta’s decisions and they ought to rally behind them.

The legislator, speaking at a prize giving ceremony at Garissa High School on Thursday stated that every member of Jubilee, including the Deputy President must take instructions from the party leader.

“Raila came to the president and said he wanted to unite Kenya and leave the opposition. From our position as Jubilee, from the Deputy President to every member, when the president speaks he speaks for us and any decision taken by the president we are abound to follow,” said Duale.

“The leader of Jubilee is Uhuru Kenyatta, and from Uhuru Kenyatta, we all take instructions. Any decision he makes binds all of us.”

He further advised ODM party members to stop piling too much pressure on Raila in regards to the recent Miguna Miguna debacle, as well as his slamming of Interior CS Dr. Fred Matiang’i’s remarks when he appeared before the Parliamentary Committee on National Security.

“Give Raila time to move at his own pace… let him and the president concentrate on bringing Kenyans together.”
