EACC lauds partnership with Judiciary in war against graft

Central region Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) Deputy Director, Jackson Mue, has lauded the Judiciary for its spirited war against graft.

Speaking in Embu during the opening of the Ethics Week on Tuesday, December 6, which precedes the International Anti-Corruption Day to be marked on Friday, December 9, Mue said speedy conclusion of corruption cases was a morale booster to EACC officers involved in investigations of theft of public property.

Mue revealed that the formation of the Corruption and Economic Crimes division of the High Court has completely changed the way corruption cases are handled and thanked the Judiciary for the partnership with EACC, which has seen delays in corruption cases eliminated adding that  nepotism, abuse of power and embezzlement of public funds would soon be a thing of the past if this trend is upheld.

The director at the same time disclosed that more than 20 graft cases have been successfully concluded in the last three months across the country, 18 of which resulted in conviction of corrupt individuals.
