EACC raids Wajir Governors homes, county officials wife arrested

Detectives from the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) on Saturday raided the homes of Wajir Governor Mohamed Muhamud Abdi in Nairobi and Wajir.

The detectives seized documents and material to aid in their investigations into claims of embezzlement of millions of shillings public at the Wajir County Government.

Sources told Citizen Digital that some of the seized material include financial documents, company ownership documents, county consultancy documents and property ownership documents.

At the same time, the detectives arrested the wife of the head of treasury in Wajir for allegedly destroying crucial documents related to the probe.

Sonia Mworia is reported to have destroyed critical evidential documents recovered in their Lower Kabete residence in respect of embezzlement of Ksh.350 million.
