EACC summons Governor Wa Iria over his home raid

The Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) has now summoned embattled Murang’a Governor Mwangi Wa Iria over last month’s scuffle at his home in Thika, where detectives were allegedly attacked by his supporters.

According to his lawyer Nganga Mbugua, Wa Iria is required to appear before the commission Monday afternoon at Integrity Centre to shed light on accusations of obstructing EACC officials from conducting their work.

The raid at his Thika home turned chaotic when a group of County Assembly Members and residents attempted to block detectives who were armed with a court order.

Governor Wa Iria has since accused the EACC officials of mishandling him and his family members.
