EACC Told To Recover Sh1.2m in Excess Salary paid to Official

The commission has been paying the Deputy CEO a gross monthly salary of Sh780,000, instead of the SRC recommended gross monthly salary of Sh550,000. 

The office of the Ombudsman has also called on the EACC to expedite the completion of investigations of cases at NSSF, including the Tassia II project, the appointments to the NSSF board and the procurement of CCTV for the NSSF towers.

The Commission on Administrative Justice came up with the recommendations after complains by members of the public on the salary of the EACC deputy CEO and the alleged purchase of a house belonging NSSF house by the EACC Vice Chair Irene Keino at a time when the commission was probing alleged graft at NSSF.
