Eastlands PSVs Go Cashless

The nine matatu saccos switched to the cashless fare system on Monday.

The nine saccos that have 410 vehicles plying the Jogoo Road route, include Ummoiner, Compliant, ROG, Royal Swift, Mwamba, Pin Point, Prime East, C-Bet, and Oma.

The saccos announced that the matatus will not accept cash starting Monday evening.

The saccos have warned that any tout who accepts cash payments will be sacked.

The nine SACCOs have alerted the police, informing Nairobi County Police Commandant Benson Kibue of the change, in order to secure the support of the authorities in achieving a smooth transition.
