Eight suspects arrested over car theft in Nairobi

Detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) on Monday arrested eight suspects believed to be part of a car theft syndicate in Nairobi.

The eight were nabbed following a security crackdown mounted after two Toyota Voxy vehicles were stolen at Phenom Estate in Lang’ata.

The suspects include; John Mwenga Kariuki, Daniel Kabita, Paul Mwaura Karanja, Edward Musonye Ikatwa, Christine Mwongeli Munyao, Alex Kioko, Daniel Gisiri and Elphas Sula.

The two vehicles; a KCS 757V and KCW 834A, were also recovered following the security operation in Umoja and Soweto areas.

According to the DCI, a Toyota Alphard vehicle that the suspects were allegedly using was also impounded.

All the suspects were detained as further investigations continue.
