Elderly People from Embu Sleep Out waiting for Money

The elderly, who slept outside the Kenya Commercial Bank in Embu town, said they were all informed to converge at the bank to get their pay.

The old men and women who came from various parts of Embu Countyb said they had no choice other than to wait.

The night crept in and with nowhere to go, they opted to spend the night outside the bank.

Duncan Ngoroi, the chairman of the elderly persons, said that the move to converge the elderly people outside the bank for pay was inhumane. 

Initially, the elderly people were collecting their monthly stipends at postal office nearest to their homes.
