Elders Back Security Operation
The elders from Kikuyu, Embu and Meru communities say the Government must use all means to ensure security for all Kenyans.
They urged Kenyans not to politicize the ongoing operation targetting criminals countrywide.
Addressing a news conference in Meru, the elders’ interim secretary General Patrick Muiru said they have initiated plans of engaging Somali elders.
Muiri said that it is important for Somali elders to be engaged in order to help curb the entry into Kenya of illegal immigrants from Somalia.
Muiru added that elders from all the communities in the country must play a leading role in guiding the young people to restrain from vices that interfere with the national security.
The elders who were hosted by Njuri Ncheke are having a series of meeting in the region in order to strengthen the newly formed National Council of Kenya Elders.
