Varsity students take to the streets in Eldoret

Hundreds of students from various universities took to the streets of Eldoret Town to protest the ongoing lecturers strike.

Led by Moi University student leader Musa Tisa, the students raised concern over police arrests calling on the government to intervene and end the strike so they can resume classes.

They said the prolonged strike is forcing many of them to stay idle and make them be associated with alcoholism and criminal activities, even when they are innocent.

Below are pictures from the strike on Friday:

The lecturers strike that has been on for the past one month has paralysed learning in public universities.

The students urged the government to find a permanent solution to the pay row so that they do not spend so that they do not have to prolong their years of study as has been the case in the past.
