Elections to go on as planned, CS Amina

The Cabinet Secretary of Foreign Affairs and International Trade, Amina Mohamed, has urged Kenyans to disregard any unsubstantiated hearsay that elections will be postponed.

The apprehension of delaying General Election came after a High Court order to stop the printing of Presidential ballot papers by the Dubai-based Al Ghurair Printing and Publishing Company Ltd.

This followed a controversy on the credibility of the tender issuance process where NASA challenged the process followed in issuing the tender to Al Ghurair.

However, NASA has rubbished accusations from Jubilee that it is not ready for the General Election, alleging that it (NASA) wants a caretaker government.

Speaking during the funeral of his brother at Mulathankari village in Meru, Cabinet Secretary for Lands, Jacob Kaimenyi, echoed CS Amina’s sentiments saying Kenyans should have faith that the Presidential ballot papers row will be dispensed and General Election will be held as stipulated by the Constitution.

They were in the company of Transport and Infrastructure Cabinet Secretary, James Macharia, who also echoed their sentiments as he gave Kaimenyi’s family condolences.
