Elite Recce Squad cop shoots lover 56 times
Police are investigating a case where an officer from the elite Recce Squad on Sunday, October 9 shot his lover 56 times before turning the gun on self.
The officer, identified as Kennedy Mwarabu, is said to have opened fire at his lover after a heated exchange.
Reports indicate that Fidelis Nthenya, the cop’s lover, met her death after a heated quarrel with her lover after she informed him that she was leaving him to get married to a different man, remarks that angered the Recce officer.
The U.S.-trained officer is also said to have quarreled with his lover over an alleged Ksh 420,000 she had borrowed from him to start a business.
Mwarabu’s colleagues reportedly ran to his house upon hearing the gunshots but their efforts to have him surrender and open the door proved futile as he refused to comply.
Nthenya was allegedly a Nairobi Institute of Business Studies student. However, none of her records or data was available at the institution.
Police are now calling on the relatives of the two to come forward and identify the bodies which were removed to Kenyatta University Mortuary and Funeral Home.
