Embu boda boda riders storm provincial administration office

Angry boda boda operators from Mbeere North stormed the Upper Eastern Regional Provincial Headquarters demanding an explanation as to why there were rising cases of insecurity in the area.

The motorcyclists said several of their colleagues had been brutally murdered and motorbikes stolen by unknown people who continue to wreak havoc in the area.

They further argue that the robbers are under police protection since no arrests have been made and cases that were reported back in November last year are yet to be investigated and culprits brought to book.

The operators said some of the criminals under protection were involved in illicit brew and drug peddling.

Led by the John Kiviti, the boda boda operators said one of the suspects has been bragging that he has pocketed the entire police and administration officers and that he was untouchable.

Kivuti said that they have continued to lose their motorbikes, some of which are traced to the residents of the suspects.

Embu Deputy County Commissioner, Christopher Siele, promised to address their plight saying that some of the issues they had raised were not recorded at any police station and thus it becomes hard for them to be tackled.
