Elders in Embu County from the predominant Mbeere and Embu communities are divided on just who should run for governor in the 2017 general election. One faction of the Embu council of elders is supporting Runyenjes Mp Cecily Mbarire’s gubernatorial bid and another group said to comprise Embu and Mbeere elders is firmly behind senator Lenny Kivuti’s stab at the county top seat.
