Embu: Mother, daughter accused of assaulting husband with panga

A mother and her daughter were on Monday arraigned at the Embu Law Court and charged with assaulting the husband at Thingingi village.

Gauderncia Irima and Hilda Mukami Ngoroi appeared before Embu Senior Principal Magistrate Henry Nyakweba and denied the offense.

The two were charged that on November 12 and November 17, 2019 they unlawfully assaulted Lucas Ngoroi Boniface occasioning bodily harm.

The Magistrate directed that the Prosecutor Victor Mwabiri consolidate the two files so that the witnesses who were to testify in both cases are the same .

The complainant is a medical engineer at Embu Level Five Hospital.

He is said to have been visiting his sick mother at Thingingi but decided to visit his son, a Form One student.

They had apparently not seen each other for while as the boy lives with her mother after the couple separated.

It is then that the two women allegedly attacked him with a panga as he tried to flee.

He sustained injuries which he reported at the nearest police station.

The two were released on personal bond of Ksh. 10,000 each.

The case will be heard on April 20, 2020.
