Embu musicians threaten to sue Mbarire over fracas

Embu musicians are threatening to sue Runyenjes Member of Parliament Cecily Mbarire claiming that her altercation with Senator Lenny Kivuti sabotaged their fundraiser.

Speaking during the fundraiser on Sunday 2nd October, the musicians under the Embu Artists Group said they incurred a loss, as they were unable to reach their target after the altercation led to guests leaving without contributing.

The artists had invited various dignitaries to the fundraiser held in Karurumo including Mbarire and Kivuti to help them raise Ksh.1.5 million to set up a music studio in Karurumo.

The artists led by their group’s chairman, Justin Kagoce, have expressed their disappointment with Mbarire alleging that she and Kivuti completely politicised the event, which compromised its purpose.

According to the artists, their final contribution figure came to Ksh.600,000 exclusive of Mbarire’s contribution.
