Embu: Seven arrested over string of burglaries during curfew hours

Police in Embu County are holding seven suspects said to be behind a series of burglary incidents that have been taking place during the dusk to dawn curfew period.

Embu County Police Commander Daniel Rukunga said the suspects were flushed out of their hide-outs in Dallas, Grogon and Shauri estates within Embu town.

Mr. Rukunga also said assorted items believed to have been stolen by the suspects from health facilities and business premises were also recovered during the operation.

The 7 are presently being held at the Embu Police Station where they are being interrogated pending arraignment in court on Monday.

Mr. Rukunga further urged Embu residents to visit the police station and identify their items so as to aid in boosting evidence against the suspects.

The police boss also called upon business owners to fight burglary by employing night guards since law enforcement officers are unable to cover all the business premises.
