Embu University College gets over Ksh.12 million in grants

Embu University College has received more than Ksh.12 million worth of research grants during the 2015-2016 academic year.

The University Principal, professor Daniel Mugendi said projects to position the College as  a research hub have so far been successful.

According to Mugendi, the grant has been used to equip the institution’s library with the requisite facilities as this would reinforce the reading culture in the institution.

Additionally, the library facility has opened doors for students from other institutions in the region to have online access to the research books.

In the last three years, Embu College University has established collaborations and partnerships with other organizations mainly for research activities.

“We are receiving request to extend the modernization program to other schools in the county,” said Mugendi.

Mugendi believes that the pursuit to knowledge has numerous benefits, besides just being crucial for economic and social development.

“This is why our institution has continued to play a leading role in the region in hosting various research conferences,” Mugendi
