Ensure steady power supply during polls, Migori residents to Kenya Power

Residents of Migori County have appealed to Kenya Power to ensure that there is uninterrupted supply of electricity during the polling period so that they can follow the electoral proceedings on live television.

Speaking to Citizen Digital, the Federation of Sugarcane Farmers Secretary General, Ezra Okoth, said the frequent power outages in Migori have worried the electorate and called on Kenya Power to maintain constant supply of power since the media is the only avenue that the residents can follow the August 8 events.

“Migori County has over 300,000 voters who will head home after casting their ballot, they have a right to access information and that is the sole reason we are insisting that the public should follow events as they happen,” said Okoth.

The County has experienced numerous power outages in the past that have affected the residents, traders and businessmen.
