Ethiopian Immigrants Nabbed In Likoni

The six, who are all men, were arrested on Tuesday night after the police got a tip off from residents in the area.

Confirming the incident, Likoni OCPD Willy Simba said the six men will be arraigned in court on Wednesday.

Last week, eleven Ethiopian nationals were arrested in the same area for being in the country illegally.

In February, police arrested 101 aliens of Ethiopian nationality in Tasia estate, Nairobi.

The aliens, who were said to be on their way to South Africa, were arrested for being in the country illegally.

Three Kenyans identified as Mahmud Abdurahi Bule, Abdi Abubakar, Abdiwadud Abdullahi, were also arrested for illegally harbouring the aliens.

More than Sh10 million is illegally earned by human traffickers monthly by smuggling Ethiopian nationals across the Kenya–Ethiopia border, with the prospect of sending them by road to South Africa.
