European agents expected in Kenya for soccer talent search
Top European football agents are set to pitch tent in Nairobi this coming weekend as they scout for local football talents through a soccer tournament.
The much-anticipated event is scheduled to go down this Friday at the Camp Toyoyo grounds in Nairobi’s Eastlands.
According to the event’s host and organizer Ghost Mulee, the tournament held in partnership with Odibets will put Kenyan players on the global map.
The agents are reported to have signed among other players Robert Mambo, and retired Kenyan International Mcdonald Mariga.
“We have done this before, and we still believe that we have much more local talents to showcase in this tournament. We hope that through this soccer tournament, we will encourage our youth to be more productive with their lives and perhaps venture into football as a full-time career,” he said.
In a statement on Thursday, Odibets country marketing manager Aggrey Sayi said: “Odibets is always on the lookout for mutually beneficial partnerships that will leave a lasting impact on our communities even as we focus on giving Kenyans an ample gaming experience.”
The event is set to kick off at 9am ending at 5pm and will culminate with the unveiling of the Champion of Champs at the venue.
The participating teams are Chapa Dimba All Stars, Kariobangi Sharks U 20, Koth Biro All Stars, Acacoro U20, Eastleigh Youth, Liberty U20, Kriss Darlin All Stars and Royal Wanyama All Stars.
