Ex-cop alleged to have commited suicide in Suba South after wife left him

A former police officer is alleged to have committed suicide at in Suba South constituency over domestic squabbles with his wife that led to separation.

Samuel Obote is said to have used a bedsheet to kill himself at Ong’ayo village in Kaksingri East location.

According to Suba Sub-county police boss Antony Njeru, one of the daughter’s found the body hanging from the window grill.

Police were told that she went to call him from his bedroom when she discovered her father was dead.

According to the police boss, domestic differences had led to the couple’s separation three months ago and he was left with his daughter.

Though police suspect that he may have committed suicide due to marital problems, investigations have been launched to ascertain the cause of death.

The Suba Sub-county police boss urged residents not to resort to suicide when faced with domestic issues but to seek guidance and counseling.

The deceased’s body was moved to Sindo Sub-county hospital mortuary pending postmortem.
