Ex-Gov’t ad agency boss Denis Chebitwey arrested
Denis Chebitwey, the former Government Advertising Agency boss has been arrested.
Detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) seized Chebitwey on Saturday over alleged corruption.
He will spend the weekend in police custody alongside Lugari MP Ayub Savula who was arrested on Friday night.
The two are expected to be arraigned in court on Monday.
Earlier, a statement from the Director of Public Prosections (DPP) Noordin Haji said Savula, former PS Sammy Itemere and 23 others are to be charged over the Ksh.122million scandal.
Haji said he is satisfied that there is sufficient evidence of fraudulent payment to individuals and companies.
Investigations revealed that the monies were paid to Ayub Savula, Melody Gatwiri Ringera and Hellen Jepkorir Kemboi.
Companies listed in the scandal include M/S. the Sunday Publishers Ltd, Melsav Company Ltd, Johnnewton Communications, the Express Media Group, No Burns Protection Agencies Ltd, Cross Continents Ventures Ltd and Shieldlock Ltd.
