Ex-Nairobi Governor Evans Kidero accuses EACC of harassment

Former Nairobi Governor Evans Kidero is now accusing the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission of harassment.

His statement comes barely hours after EACC detectives raided his home in Muthaiga and his Westlands office apparently in search of documents.

“This is pure harassment and a violation of my rights and we will not take this laying down,” he told journalists after the morning incident.

According to him, the detectives arrived at his home at 6am with a search warrant despite no evidence linking him to corruption.

They then whisked him away to his Eldama Park offices in Westlands still in search of the alleged documents.

Kidero noted that the EACC officials were looking for evidence to implicate him after being recently charged with claims of abuse of office.

His son was also arrested in August and locked up at the Gigiri Police Station for allegedly selling adulterated fuel.
