Ex-Raila aide, Caroli Omondi, boycotts Suba ODM repeat primaries

Former Raila Odinga’s aide, Caroli Omondi, has boycotted the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) repeat primaries in Suba South Constituency claiming that the results in the seven polling stations have already been pre-determined.

Omondi insists that he will not participate in the repeat primaries even as incumbent Suba South Member of Parliament, John Mbadi, cast his ballot at God Oloo Primary School polling center.

This comes after the Political Parties Disputes Tribunal on Friday, May 5 declared the decision by ODM party to award Mbadi, the nomination certificate as null and void.

The three-bench-Judge Tribunal also ordered the National Elections Board to carry out fresh nominations in seven polling stations in Suba South.

On Tuesday, May 9, the ODM National Elections Board Chairperson, Judith Pareno, called for repeat nominations in Oma, God Oloo, Koga, Mikuyu, Miriya, Kiembe and Nyakiya Primary Schools.

Suba ODM aspirant, Caroli Omondi, had filed a complaint before the Tribunal saying that ODM violated his political rights to unfairly award the certificate to Mbadi to fly ODM flag in the forthcoming General Election.
