EXCLUSIVE: Aerial video, photos of killer dam in Subukia

A spot check by Citizen Digital revealed that the barrier around the deadly dam in Subukia was made of stones, boulders and loose gravel that gave way after heavy rains.

Patel Dam has so far claimed over 30 lives and left more than 2,500 people displaced.

The affected area reportedly stretches over a distance of 10 kilometres.

Video footage shows only loose gravel and earthen banks.

A wider look further reveals that a second dam is posing another risk to residents living in the surrounding area.
