Exclusive video of Al Shabaab Mpeketoni attack released
A video detailing the aborted Al Shabaab raid in a Kenya Defense base in Lamu has been released.
An ITV news exclusive footage shows the gun battle in which the British jihadist Thomas Evans was killed as he tried to capture the attack and the painstaking manner in which the attackers had prepared themselves.
In the footage over 30 militants with some speaking fluent Swahili are seen chanting and embracing each other in a forest as they make mockery of Kenya’s defense systems and the vulnerability of Kenyans.
in one clip, the video shows yellow jerry cans that are believed to detail the Army’s positions and installations.
They are armed with an assortment of weapons including Kalashnikov’s, homemade bombs and knives.
Evans was filming the invasion before the militants were met with a barrage of gunfire from troops who managed to kill 15 Al Shabaab in the clash.
The group of around 100 Al Shabaab had walked across the border into Kenya and tried to take over a Kenya army base in Baure in Lamu.
