Expect uncomfortably high temperatures, Kenya Met department warns

For the next three weeks residents of Nairobi, Eastern, North Eastern and Mombasa regions will have to bear with uncomfortably high temperatures according to the Kenya Meteorological department.

The abnormally high temperatures currently being experienced have been attributed to decline in forest cover in the country and global warming.

The met department says temperature deviation since the start of the year have seen Nairobi hit the 31.9C mark while Mombasa recorded in excess of 33C. In North Eastern the weatherman recorded temperatures Above 41 c

Kenyans have felt the heat and have had to cope with what Mother Nature threw at them.

Effects that manifest from exposure to high levels of heat include but not limited to dehydration, too much sweating, fatigue and bouts of headaches.

It is recommended that one takes a lot of water to stay hydrated, dress lightly, use a fan at home and in the event of prolonged body discomfort seek medical attention
