Expose who tried to bribe judge in Wambora case, CJ Maraga told

A group of civil rights activists in Embu County now want Chief Justice David Maraga to publicly reveal the names of individuals and leaders who allegedly tried to bribe a judge in the election appeal case filed by Embu Governor Martin wambora.

Justice Sankale ole Kantai disqualified himself from the case last week citing that one of the parties in the case had tried to compromise him through a proxy.

This forced the court to adjourn the hearing of the case until July 3, 2018, further warning of dire consequences to those trying to influence the case.

The group dubbed Embu Citizens Oversight Network said the Chief Justice ought to name and shame those trying to ascend to power by buying justice and abetting corruption.

One of the leaders, Wawira Njue, noted that the case involves two leaders, the Embu Governor and former Senator Lenny Kivuti, hence the court should not shy away from revealing the names.

Governor Wambora moved to the Appellate Court on March 20, 2018 after the High Court nullified his victory in the last elections.
