Facebook love story ends in court as British national is accused of assaulting fiancee

A love story that started with a Facebook chat ended up in court on Tuesday after a British national was accused of assaulting his Kenyan fiancee.

Stephen Brian White was on Monday arraigned at the Kiambu Law Courts and charged with assaulting his girlfriend Peris Njambi after a domestic disagreement.

According to court documents, a few months ago, the two established a lucrative business company, Durian Property Consult, dealing in real estate.

But soon after they got engaged, Peris claims she noticed a change in attitude of her soon-to-be husband.

What followed was a rocky patch in the relationship and a business disagreement that led to the closure of their company.

In court documents, Peris claims White wanted all his investment leaving her with nothing despite having built the company together.

The accused, who was before Principal Magistrate Stella Atambo was released on a Ksh.100,000 bond and a surety of a similar amount.

The case is set for hearing on July 22, 2019.
