Fake IDs recovered as 5 suspects arrested for impersonating KDF, NPS, NIS officers

Detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) on Thursday arrested five suspects for impersonating law enforcement officers.

Sharoq Afzal Shah, Jamal Hassan Ali, Fred Ngusare, Francis Saitabau and Junaid Mehmood Osman were nabbed in Nairobi.

The five are being held for impersonating officers from the Kenya Defence Forces (KDF), National Police Service (NPS) and National Intelligence Service (NIS) as well as engaging in suspicious activities.

Two vehicles in which they were driving was intercepted at T-Mall area and, upon searching, fake NIS and KDF identification cards a well as gate passes and pocket phones were recovered.

“Members of the public who have fallen victim to the activities of such individuals are advised to visit DCI Lang’ata,” said the DCI.
