Fake Kenya Power inspector arrested for soliciting Ksh.200K bribe
A man masquerading as a Kenya Power official was on Tuesday arrested by anti-graft detectives while allegedly trying to extort money from a customer.
EACC said the suspect; Michael Njogu Mburu, was seeking a Ksh.200,000 bribe to stop action against a Kenya Power complainant whom he accused of tampering with the electricity meter.
Mburu, who claimed to be a Kenya Power Inspector, is set to be arraigned in court on Wednesday.
Meanwhile, still on Tuesday, police seized stolen Kenya Power equipment worth Ksh.20 million at a home in Membley estate, Ruiru.
One suspect has since been arrested in connection to the stolen equipment.
