Family agony as remains of kin are flown back into the country from Saudi Arabia

The body of Caroline Aluoch, who died under mysterious circumstances in Saudi Arabia two months ago was flown into the country on Saturday.

A post-mortem will be conducted tomorrow, Sunday to establish whether her death was by suicide as alleged by the government of Saudi Arabia.

The family of the late 24-year-old Caroline Aluoch did not anticipate that her return from Saudi Arabia would be a return trip tragedy.

As her body was brought into the Chiromo mortuary, an air of grief and sorrow prevailed.

It has been a long wait of 2 months since receiving the report of her death on May 5 in Saudi Arabia, the world’s largest middle eastern nation and one which many kenyans run to seeking work opportunities.

Aluoch, who was a student at the Kisii University, left the country in November 2020 seeking employment after failing to raise fees to continue with her education.

According to her family, she secured a job as a help and later things went wrong once an accident occurred at work.

Her family further says that Aluoch lived in fear, especially after letting her relatives know about her predicament. She last communicated with the family on April 9.

The family disputes the report issued by the Saudia’s Health Ministry, claiming that Aluoch took her own life

The postmortem scheduled for Sunday, July 11 will determine her cause of death.

The family plans to bury her on Tuesday in Homa Bay.
