Family agony over EACC officers mysterious disappearance

An Ethics and Anti-Corruption officer from Nandi county has been missing for a week, having not been seen by family and friends since December 16.

Stephen Kotutwa of Keben village, Nandi, was last seen in public last Saturday with his whereabouts since then unknown after he had been spotted at the village trading center.

County police commander, Patrick Wambani, confirmed the incident saying that Kokutwa’s disappearance had been reported by the family at Lesos police station.

“The missing officer was seen with his child within the trading center, but he sent his child home and since then has not been seen,” he said.

Wambani added that investigations had been launched into the disappearance and the police are still tracking him down.

“Since he got lost, his phone has been switched off. We are trying to track him down and our investigations are ongoing,” he said.

The missing EACC officer has a history of illness, according to his wife, but was okay on the day that he was last seen.

He had, according to his wife, been herding livestock on the morning of his disappearance.

“We are saddened by his disappearance. He had been feeling unwell but was okay before he went missing,” narrated the officer’s wife.

His family also confirmed to Citizen Digital that the community had embarked on a massive manhunt to search for Kokutwa, to no avail.

“We have searched everywhere that we possibly can and everyone in the community has been involved. We have also tried searching through social media. We are calling on the government that if they have any form of technology that can assist in tracking him down to use it,” she said.
