Family in agony over disappearance of father

Efforts by Elizabeth Mutua to trace her husband, Benedict Mutinda Mutua, 51, who went missing a fortnight ago from his Mutuni village home in Kitui County have not borne any fruits despite the matter having been reported to authorities.

Benedict Mutua, a Telecom Kenya employee, was the family’s sole breadwinner and went missing on August 28, 2016.

However, Kitui County Police Commander, Shem Nyaboke, remains optimistic that the search will bear fruits adding that efforts to trace Mutua and unravel the mystery behind his disappearance are at advanced stages.

Mutua’s son, William Mutua, a second year student at Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology has appealed to the police to intensify their efforts to trace his father.

He said that his education now hangs in the balance as the mother cannot raise the required school fees and upkeep money and he might have to opt out.

Residents are equally disturbed by the mysterious disappearance and want the police to cast their nets wide in the search mission.
