Family searches for woman, 50, who disappeared without a trace

A family at Ngaragateri Village in Kianjokoma, Embu North is searching for their 50-year-old mother who disappeared without a trace last week.

Mary Riamy Machaki disappeared on Tuesday last week and efforts by her family to trace her have not yielded fruit.

Speaking to Citizen Digital, Robert Mwangi, her son, said his mother called him on Tuesday at around 8.00 pm but has not been heard from since, adding that they have not received any information on her since.

Stella Kagendo, her daughter, told Citizen Digital that she tried calling her mother severally on Tuesday but she did not receive her calls, adding that her phone went dead on Saturday.

The siblings say their mother was expected to travel to Nakuru last week to accompany a team that was going to pay dowry on Friday but did not show up.

The family now says that police have traced her phone to Kaburu dam and are appealing to anyone with information on her whereabouts to contact them.
