Family Threatens To Sue KNH Over Negligence

24 year old Wilfred Weke was found dead by the roadside along Mara road in Upper Hill area, Nairobi.

According to the family spokes person, Brian Weke, Wilfred was referred to Kenyatta National Hospital on Saturday the 13th for an emergency dialysis.

The family however says it took longer than expected for Wilfred to get the procedure done.

It was later that the hospital informed them that Weke could not be traced.

Weke’s body was then found on a thicket on Monday the 15th and taken to city mortuary by the Capital Hill police.

A preliminary postmortem report as conducted by three pathologists including one for the family indicated that the young man suffered from weight loss, bruises on shoulders and chin which could have been from a fall but could not have caused the death

The report however indicated that internal bleeding at the site of dialysis where the late man lost up to 1 litre of blood could have contributed significantly to the death.

The family is demanding for the resignation of the hospital boss and the health CS and is considering legal action against the hospital.
