Boy, 2, still missing days after Siyabei accident

Four days after the horrific Siyabei River accident that claimed 19 lives, anxiety has gripped residents of Kebirigo, Kisii as they are unable to trace a two-year-old boy.

Mr. Sylvester Ondiek is yet to find his nephew Clifford Nyakeya even after having reported the same to relevant authorities.

He told Citizen Digital that he and other relatives searched Narok Referral Hospital wards and even the mortuary but did not find the boy.

The mother of the boy, Lillian Kemunto Onyancha, perished in the accident and the body has since been taken home for burial.

Mr. Ondiek said they have received unconfirmed reports that the body of a minor was transported from the scene of the accident to Dandora in Nairobi.

They are appealing to anyone who may have information on their little boy to contact the nearest police station.

Meanwhile, the driver of the truck involved in the accident has been arrested and is to appear in court within the next 10 days on charges of reckless driving.
