Fight erupts as Bomet MCAs elect new County Assembly Speaker

A fight erupted at the Bomet County Assembly on Friday morning following a disagreement during the election of a new Speaker.

Trouble began after a section of MCAs led by Embomos Ward MCA Robert Serbai demanded that the new Speaker ought to be from Konoin Sub-county since other county leaders including the Governor, Deputy Governor, Senator and Woman Representative hail from the other constituencies of Bomet.

Mr. Serbai was roughed up and forcefully ejected from the chambers by the Assembly orderlies as the election of the Speaker went on.
