First Lady launches new initiative on health care

First Lady Margaret Kenyatta has today (Wednesday) rolled out a new initiative to refurbish existing county community health facilities across the country.

The new initiative,Adopt-a-ward, will see the First Lady taking another leading role to renovate and restore county community health facilities, both in terms of physical infrastructure and improvement of services offered at these institutions.

The First Lady made the announcement when she handed over medical supplies and equipment worth Sh40 million to Chemolingot Sub-County Hospital in Tiaty, Baringo County.

The announcement for the new initiative comes when the First Lady is preparing to deliver the last four fully-kitted Mobile Clinics in another initiative that has seen her crisscross the country to deliver 43 other mobile clinics under the Beyond Zero drive.

The remaining four counties include Tana River, Nandi, Murang’a and Nairobi.
