First Lady’s Call For Women Empowerment

The first lady was speaking during the gender violence recovery centre gala at Nairobi arboretum, Friday night where she stressed the importance of women acquiring knowledge and resources.

The first lady noted that most married women were forced to put up with domestic and gender based violence due to inability to support themselves financially.

She also called for better education for girls on their rights and further urged communities to end retrogressive cultural practices that adversely affect young girls.
