Five arrested for allegedly stealing goods worth over Ksh.2M

Detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) on Tuesday arrested five people suspected to have stolen goods worth over Ksh.2 million from Cornstar Maize Millers in Makuyu.

387 bales of Cornstar flour as well as other assorted items were reportedly recovered during the operations conducted in Nairobi’s Utawala and Thome estates.

The five suspects – Duncan Kihumba (41), Stephen Ng’ang’a (39), Patrick Mwangi (38), Anthony Kimani (23) and Edward Mwangi (34) – are presently in police custody awaiting arraignment.

According to the DCI, the suspects will be charged with robbery with violence and the recovered goods used as exhibits during prosecution.

Three other suspects connected to the robbery had reportedly earlier been arrested and charged.
