Five arrested for stealing, slaughtering donkeys
Police in Laikipia are holding five people for allegedly stealing and slaughtering over 10 donkeys Thursday, September 15.
According to the police, a woman, her two sons and two other suspects were caught slaughtering the donkeys at around 10:00pm Thursday at Ol-Jabet Village in Laikipia County.
Area Chief, David Kamau, confirmed that they had arrested the five but several other suspects had managed to escape.
He said 11 donkeys had been slaughtered by that time while three others were also lined up for slaughtering. He further added that the donkey meat would be transported to Nairobi and sold to unsuspecting Kenyans.
