Five family members killed after their vehicle swept by floods

Five people from the same family died on Monday morning after their vehicle was swept by flash floods at Ngatatoek area in Kajiado Central, Kajiado County.

The victims; two adults and three children, were heading from Namanga to Bisil in Kajiado when tragedy struck in the wee hours of Monday morning.

The five were returning home from a wedding in Tanzania but made a stopover in Namanga where they spent the night at their relatives home.

Area police commander Daudi Loronyokwe confirmed the incident, urging motorists and local residents to be on high alert during the ongoing rainy season.

The bodies of the deceased were moved to the Kajiado County Referral Hospital.

This comes as the latest tragic incident caused by the ongoing rains after about 40 people were killed in West Pokot County following landslides in Nyarkulian and Parua villages.
