Five killed in Kirinyaga road accident
Five people, four women and a man, have been confirmed dead after a Tuesday night accident between a school bus and a pickup in Kirinyaga county.
According to Kirinyaga Central OCPD Yaya Chome, the Mukinduri accident on the Kerugoya-Baricho road involved a pickup truck and a Kamuiru school bus.
Chome said the pickup, carrying seven and was speeding, rammed into the school bus killing the driver and a middle-aged woman on the spot.
Six people were rushed to the Kerugoya District hospital where three died on arrival.

The Kirinyaga County fire brigade had a difficult time trying to rescue two people who had been trapped in the mangled wreck.
The county education director Peter Magiri said nobody was injured in the school bus. Drivers were cautioned against reckless driving and also urged to follow traffic rules.
Their bodies were moved to the Kerugoya hospital mortuary.
