Five suspected robbers lynched by angry mob

Six suspected thugs were early Friday killed by angry residents of Riruta in Nairobi after breaking into shops.

The six are said to be part of a 15-man gang that has been terrorizing residents within the area.

The 3AM incident occurred after they broke into a shop and made away with goods before the boda boda riders in the area raised alarm.

According to the residents, five of the suspects ran into one house to hide the stolen goods before the mob caught up with them and stoned them to death.

One of the suspects was gunned down by the police after he tried to whip out a pistol and attack the crowd.

Residents say that insecurity has been on the rise where young boys aged between 15 and 20 years armed with guns are robbing people as early as 7PM.

The residents are now urging the police to conduct a major swoop in an effort to address this insecurity.

Several suspects are said to have escaped with bullet wounds and police are calling on anyone with clinics around to report to the nearest police station in case anyone with suspicious wounds seeks medical attention.
