Floods displace residents in Eldoret
Residents of Kamukunji and Kidiwa estates in Eldoret have been left homeless following flash floods.
They say they have been forced to seek accommodation from friends and relatives even as fears loom over a disease outbreak.
Most dams and rivers have been filled to capacity and crops been washed away.
The county government is being urged to intervene and ensure that drainage systems are repaired to avoid future calamities.
Heavy rains continue to wreak havoc in the country causing death of over hundred people and displacing more than 250,000 others.
The Met Department has since issued an high alert saying the situation is likely to continue for the rest of the month.
